CGI in Star Wars: “Do or Do not”

CGI…a dreaded word to some Star Wars fans. A tool that has caused division in not just this fandom but many others too as more directors are leaning towards using CGI instead of practical effects. While many fans don’t like the idea of CGI, many also don’t realise how much in Star Wars is actually still practical effects (PE).

The Rise of Skywalker – what does it mean?

Star Wars celebration is coming to an end and what a celebration it’s been! There were so many amazing panels and highlights which we will cover in upcoming posts. We will be having a look at the Clone Wars panel and of course the upcoming series The Mandalorian!! However one of the main events undeniably was the reveal of a teaser trailer and we finally got a title for the movie. We already had an in depth look into the trailer in our previous article (click here to read that). Now though it is time for me to share my thoughts on the title and what I think or hope it means and what others might think it means.

The Star Wars fans – who are we?

We are drawing near to the start of another Star Wars celebration, which is taking place in Chicago this weekend. We, as Clone Corridor, had the privilege of attending Star Wars celebration 2016 in London and met so many new fans while we were there. It was an amazing opportunity for us to attend such an immersive Star Wars experience but also to get to know different types of fans. So as another one is starting in less than 24 hours I started to think about our ‘fandom’ as a whole. Who are we and what do we represent? What really makes up a Star Wars fan and are we one of the most divisive fandoms there is?

Asajj Ventress – A sister in the lonely night

In a previous post we looked at one of my favourite characters Darth Maul (which many people seemed to really enjoy reading) in which I mentioned Asajj Ventress. They are very similar when looking at their birthplace and the people they initially grew up around. However towards their adolescent years they both start to take completely different paths. Both owe their start in the use of the dark ways of the Force mostly to mother Talzin. Throughout the Clone Wars series we learn a lot about the young woman that Ventress is and the conflict she constantly feels within herself; where does her alliance lie? While the CW series does not give us her whole story, it is known from outside sources so in this post we will have a look at her timeline, her big turning points and what eventually became of her.

Darth Maul – Pure evil or ripped of a choice?

Darth Maul has throughout the years gone from being a very badass character but without much background to what I believe to be one of the most complex characters in the starwars universe. We were introduced to him in the Phantom menace and he immediately captivated audiences with his completely different fighting style (more martial arts infused), his terrifying appearance and of course his – way too early – end. Now before we continue to delve into the mystery surrounding this sith lord I want to warn you that there of course will be SPOILERS ahead. If you haven’t seen any of the Clone Wars, Rebels or Han Solo and want to preserve the possible shock elements when watching it then click away!!
