Not too long ago an amazing video by WhoIsPablo made its way onto the Internet in which the visual poetry behind the Star Wars Prequels and Originals really came out in full Force (pun intended). Here at Clone Corridor we loved it so much that we decided to contact Pablo and ask him to tell us how he got the idea for it and how he made it. Have another quick look (or two) at it below and then have a read of Pablo’s work process.
Recently I decided to make a supercut for Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens where I cut it together like a Guardians of the Galaxy trailer. Here it is what I did:
After making it, I thought about rewatching the complete saga again and do a tribute to those movies. I already made a tribute to the complete saga and their music once before:
However now I wanted something different, something that no one else had done before. When I watched the documentary “Star Wars Episode I The Beginning: Making Episode I” there was a moment when George Lucas was comparing the new trilogy with the old one, explaining that it was “like poetry, they rhyme”. I liked that line a lot and I thought there was something poetic about it. After that, I started watching more videos about the new trilogy and I rewatched one review of the Phantom Menace where it compared to some of the scenes from the new trilogy with the old one. One of those reviews was Mr. Plinkett’s Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace Review
After I watched it, I thought I had something interesting to edit with. I investigated more about similar scenes between the two trilogies and I found an interesting website that compares all the movies: Star Wars Parallels.I used that information to start with and then I did my own research watching all the movies until I started putting all the pieces together. Because this video was something different, not just a traditional tribute to Star Wars, I decided to use a different kind of music for the video. I didn’t want it to be the typical montage using Star Wars music so I went with a different direction. I used a song that I love “Ludovico Einaudi – Experience” that added more feeling and nostalgia to the video.
I think we can all agree that Pablo made a beautiful video and I personally loved finding out all his different types of inspirations, even if that was Plinkett’s review!
A good thing came from someone watching the Red Letter Media “reviews”. This is so wizard!

I know, I never thought I’d see the day where I’d be happy about those reviews 😉
